Recently the beautiful Megan from She Said Yes asked me to photograph the launch of the Bride Tribe. She wanted to create a safe, low key event for brides-to-be to get away from the social media hype and advertising of everything you supposedly need and must have for a wedding. Pinterest is full of wonderful ideas, but let’s face it, they aren’t a reality for most.
It’s no secret that the average price of a wedding sits around the $30,000 mark, (expensive!) which is basically a deposit on a house. The Bride Tribe was to be a non-commercial space where real brides-to-be could discuss and share ideas on what is most important for them. It was also going to be opportunity for brides to discuss with real vendors giving unbiased information and tips.
After hearing Megan’s vision for the Bride Tribe I knew it was an event not to be missed.
So on her birthday we celebrated the launch of The Bride Tribe, hosted at the marvellous Pilkingtons in Auckland city. The food was fantastic and the service was truly out of this world. This is the perfect place for any event which requires little to no decorating as you will see below. There were first hand interviews with Hannah of Beauty by Hannah who kindly shared details of her upcoming destination wedding (in a few short days) in Bali.
We were then delighted with a floral display by Rosie at Rose Tinted Flowers, Rosie showed us how to make an exquisite simple floral crown, plus a stunning elegant/rustic bouquet. These are actually so easy to put together! She also reiterated the idea that you can still have amazing flowers at a reduced price.
Evie from Highlight Videos NZ and Backyard Weddings also gave an interview discussing her destination wedding in Samoa.
Finally there were a panel of professionals (including myself) for some quick fire questions.
