I’m nervous and worried about what I will look like in photos!
I have extensive experience photographing women of ALL ages and sizes. I have also had formal training on how to pose clients that flatter people, this also extends to photography angles to ensure that I capture you in your best light. I am very down to earth, friendly and fun, I will make you feel comfortable in front of the camera as well as give you direction every step of the way so you feel confident. This is especially important with Boudoir photography because you want to look your best!
Are the people in the photos you show models?
Not at all! The women I photograph range in age, size and background, they are everyday women like yourself! They have all given permission to use photos, I will not use your photos without your written permission.
Who will do my Makeup and Hair?
We are both certified Makeup and Hair Artists’ and use top quality MAC products. One (or both) of us will do your hair and makeup before your session while you relax with a glass of bubbles or drink, during your pre-planning session we take into consideration what style you are going for and we will go from there. If you have a favourite Makeup and Hair Artist you would like to use, this is no problem at all, this will be at your own cost.
When should I schedule the session?
I highly recommended booking in your session about 4 weeks from when you need your finished product. If you need it sooner, please let me know and I will fit you in.
How long does it take?
Your boudoir photo session will probably last about three hours in total. Why so long? It takes time for hair and makeup, plus there may be some additional lighting setups. It may also take you a little while to relax. Most people aren't used to lounging around wearing little, if any, clothing in front of the camera, so your first few shots can sometimes look a bit stiff.
What do I wear?
I have an extensive lingerie collection from corsets bodysuits, dresses, bras, robes and shoes in a range of sizes from size 6 - 24 (due to hygienic reasons I do not supply underwear, I can advise you where to purchase if you don’t have anything suitable). If you feel more comfortable in your own lingerie, shorts, t-shirts etc then bring these along and we will style your session around your outfits. If you are just not sure what to wear I can have a prep guide to ensure you feel confident in choosing the right outfits to fit your style, we will also have a meeting to help you decide what you would like from your photoshoot.
Where should I have it done?
I have a beautiful home studio with fantastic furniture that we can use. If you would like this in your own home, or outdoors we can also plan for this. The Port Hills is one of my favourite locations for photoshoots.
Do you photograph outside of Christchurch?
Yes definitely! I photograph around New Zealand and sometimes hold boudoir dates outside of Christchurch. Keep an eye on my Instagram Page or website for upcoming dates.
Can you heavily edit my face and edit photos to make me look skinny?
The short answer is no. Remember, this is a photoshoot to celebrate you as you are now, in cases where you have a blemish or scar that you cannot help I will edit those out as requested. I also do not nip-tuck your images, this is where careful wardrobe consideration, and careful posing comes into play where nip-tucking shouldn't be needed - turning you into someone who is almost unrecognisable is not part of my jam! All images are edited to make you look your best as you are today!
