Often booking a photoshoot can seem complicated, I want to make your experience as simple as possible. I have added this FAQ section to help answer some questions, or hesitations you may have.

GENERAL QUESTIONS

I'm not very photogenic, what if I don't look good?
A professional photographer knows how to pose and shoot angles that flatter people of any size. I am very down to earth, friendly and fun. I will make you feel comfortable in front of the camera as well as give you direction so you feel confident.

For your wedding experience, I also offer engagement photoshoots. An engagement session ensures that you get to know me, see how I pose so you will feel even more confident on your wedding day.

What do I wear?
I find that what you feel most comfortable in works best with my clients, when you are comfortable you show your true self. Dress nice for the occasion so you feel good. Try to avoid heavy patterns and fluorescent colours as they often don't show up very well in photographs (unless thats what your all about, then we'll make it work!).

Are you qualified?
Yes. Since deciding to take on photography professionally I have obtained two photography diplomas, certificates in Wedding, Newborn and Portrait Photography, as well as several workshops in posing, lighting and business. I feel that continued education is key for offering my clients the best quality work possible.

How safe are my photos?
As with all professional photographers I take every precaution in order to preserve your treasured memories. I currently back up to three different sources to ensure if one fails I always have at least two backups. Please note that after 1 year I do archive your images, if you need any images after that year is up there will be a retrieval fee.

What is the difference between Low-Resolution & High-Resolution Digital Images?
A low resolution web-sized image is an image specifically optimized for use on social media and emailing. If you just want images to put on Facebook, social media and email to your friends and family then you only need low resolution. They take up less space in your hard drive and much cheaper to purchase.

High resolution images are for printing purposes, their files are often very large and can take a long time to upload and save and often don't look as good when uploaded to social media due to the size and compression that takes place.

I highly recommend saving your money and only purchasing low resolution digital images unless you have access to a professional print lab. This enables you have all of your photographs ready for viewing on a screen to keep and share, as well as be able to invest in high quality prints, canvases and albums you can admire for years to come.

Why do you not recommend printing images at kiosks, or online etc?
When you hire a professional photographer you want quality results. Kiosks and online company prints are not of professional quality, more often than not they add their own colour corrections to each print, even if you tick "no colour correction". Your prints usually come out looking different to what you saw on your photographers screen. Also, the prints are not guaranteed to last. Time and time again I hear people printing from kiosks and online companies and being so disappointed with the results. A professional photographer calibrates their screen regularly in order to make sure the prints they order match their screen, they then resize the image to match your order, add any further editing if needed, sharpen the image accordingly to ensure the best looking print possible, once the images arrive they inspect the quality before you receive them.

I love your photography style, but we can't afford a full package, do you offer payment plans?
I believe everyone deserves stunning photographs, but I realise that not everyone can afford full payment upfront. This is why I offer payment plans for any photoshoots, as well as any print and/or digital orders. To secure your wedding date a $1,000, or 50% of package cost non-refundable booking fee is payable at the time of booking. For portraits the sitting fee acts as your retainer to secure your date, this is also non-refundable. Payment plans commence after this, images are only delivered once the balance is paid in full. I also offer credit card payments for your convenience.

WEDDING QUESTIONS

What is your wedding style?
My style is natural, romantic, classic yet creative. Your wedding day is a special time which entails numerous types of photography. I bring all those into one gallery of images for you to enjoy and treasure forever. From capturing those moments while the bride and groom are getting ready, to the more traditional bridal, family and group shots. I also love to get creative with editorial/Fine Art style images you will want to have printed on a canvas, all while capturing those often forgotten small yet important moments that unfold throughout the day through to your first dance.

What if it rains on my wedding day?
Too often a bride is afraid of rain on their wedding day. It is very rare that it will ever rain non-stop. In regards to photography, rain can often create dramatic, stunning photos that you will want to show everyone. I have a few images from weddings when it was raining that I have photographed, you are welcome to view these at your pre-wedding consultation.

Use of umbrellas always makes for good photographs as well as parasols (make sure they are waterproof coated) and they can even be used if its sunny.

I have also created a Rain Inspiration Pintrest board to show you other weddings which have dealt with rain, and to also show you that you can still enjoy beautiful photographs no matter what the weather.

Can I see a full portfolio of a wedding day?
Definitely. I believe it is highly important to see full wedding galleries from your photographer, this is one of the most important days of your life so you need to see an example of the type of photographs you will receive. Please contact me for a no-obligation pre-wedding consultation. We will run through the process of the wedding day, what you want from your wedding photos, discuss any concerns and of course I have a slideshow running of full weddings so you can see some wedding examples from beginning to end.

How long will it take to get my images back?
After 24 - 48 hours I will put a few "sneak peak" images on Facebook, after that you can expect your gallery within 8 weeks from your wedding date. Each image is carefully enhanced to bring out its natural beauty.

BOUDOIR QUESTIONS

I'm not very photogenic, what if I don't look good?
A professional photographer knows how to pose and shoot angles that flatter people of any shape and size. I am very down to earth, friendly and fun. I will make you feel comfortable in front of the camera as well as give you direction every step of the way so you feel confident. This is especially important with Boudoir photography because you want to look your best!

Along with all my photography workshops and training, I have also attended a 3 week Boudoir Photography workshop which taught posing specific to Boudoir for any body shape and size.

When should I schedule the session?
I highly recommended booking in your session about 8-10 weeks from when you need your finished product. If you need it sooner, please let me know and I will try fit you in.

How long does it take?
Your boudoir photo session will probably last about two hours. Why so long? It takes time for hair and makeup, plus there may be some additional lighting setups. It may also take you a little while to relax. Most people aren't used to lounging around wearing little, if any, clothing in front of the camera, so your first few shots can sometimes look a bit stiff.

What do I wear?
I have created a What to Wear Guide which you receive on booking your Boudoir session.

Where should I have it done?
I don't currently have a studio, however if you have a bedroom that has lots of natural light this is perfect for your shoot. Feel free to send me photographs so I can assess properly. Another popular site is a posh hotel room, however this will be at your cost. If you need to have the shoot done away from your home, please give me plenty of notice and we can organize a session at my home.
