I’ve said it before, I love winter weddings, and it is always a risk when you decide to have one! But for Sophie and Chris, it was a risk worth taking. It was such a stunning day in Taupo for their wedding, hardly a cloud to be seen.
The brightness and ease of the day fit the personality of the couple and their bridal party. I did the engagement shoot for Sophie and Chris in July and it struck me then how relaxed and easy going they both were. Their wedding day was no different.
There were a lot of jokes and laughter while everyone was getting ready. Underpinning it all was a genuine excitement for a lovely couple on their wedding day.
Every aspect of the day was beautiful. Everyone of course looked fantastic, but there was a different kind of beauty that radiated from the couple. They had such a calm and steady confidence, and it radiated so much love. Every smile and every laugh was given so freely to each other and to all their friends and family, who in turn shared smiles and laughter with each other. It was truly infectious.
Sophie and Chris got married at the Taupo Yacht Club with stunning views of the infamous lake. It was such a fitting vista to reflect Chris’s love of the lake, and the place that Sophie was born and raised. We also travelled to Spa Park for some photos and made a slight detour for some chicken McNuggets, (as you do!) before heading to Taupo Baptist Church for the reception.
I had such a refreshing time with Sophie and Chris. They are surrounded by an incredible and supportive group of family and friends. I couldn't have asked for a finer couple of human beings to immortalize the beginning of the rest of their lives.
Enjoy these highlights from their day!
