Weddings are a stressful time for anyone and no doubt every bride wants to look her best on her wedding day. I love to work closely with and get to know other wedding vendors, and one vendor I work with closely is Amber McIver at Verdo Parnell. Amber has a wealth of knowledge - not only with nails, but also Hair, Make-up and spray-tanning. With a small team of 3 professionals Verdo is an award winning boutique salon who has also taken part in NZ Fashion week more than once!
I recently got in touch with Amber to give her top tips for getting Wedding ready and heres what she had to say:
Making your hair, skin and nails wedding ready is a priority for most brides. This doesn't have to cost you the earth to achieve, more often than not its really simple things that make huge differences. Here are my top tips for getting your hair, skin and nails perfect for your big day:
Diet
There is nothing more motivated than a bride getting ready for her wedding day and more often than not, a brides diet will be a lot better than it usually is.
- Reduce your intake of sugar, this will help keep sugar based blemishes at bay.
- Increase your vegetable and fruit intake. If you can't get enough veges in, juice them (its bitter, but a vege juice is a shot of vitamins and minerals which helps clear up your skin)
- Double your intake of water. Flush everything out and keep yourself hydrated really helps clear that skin of yours.
- Exercise, sweating is great for your skin. It helps flush out anything sitting on the surface of your skin.
Treatments/Products
Invest in good quality skin care products. Go see your beauty therapist, and work out the best solutions for you and your skin. Its an investment, and it is totally worth it.
Wear Sunscreen
Help keep the sun damage at bay, especially over summer. This toughens your skin and brings up pigment which makes your skin look dull.
Relax
Planning a wedding is stressful. Take time to chill out, this lowers your cortisol and helps with any stress related eating or break outs.
Repair
Now is the time to invest in good treatments for your hair and nails if it requires it. Using hair masks helps restore some moisture into your hair, leaving it feeling soft and looking healthy. For your nails, cuticle oil helps keep your nails strong and healthy, it also helps with that dry skin around your nail plate, and stops you picking if you are one to pick.
Amber and her team offer Hair & Make-up, as well as Bridal Nail and Tan Parties - this is a perfect excuse to have a pamper day with your girls leading up to your big day, and to ensure you are all looking glam and ready.
