Dave & Briana | The Hunting Lodge, Auckland | Winery Wedding

You can never plan the weather. It comes and goes as it pleases and on some occasions, it can make or break a day. I have always found that when it comes to weddings, you can always work with what the day brings, even when it is cyclone. Ex-tropical cyclone Fehi decided to make its way to our shores a few days after Briana and Dave’s wedding, but as you can see, rather than put a complete dampener on the day, we worked with the wonderfully moody backdrop it provided. It was a great setting to have contrast with the warm, sunny vibes of the couple and the wedding party.

The wedding ceremony and reception was held at The Hunting Lodge, which is about 40 minutes
from Auckland CBD. It is an historic location that plays homage to its rustic past and at the same
time, maintains a very modern and refined appeal. As a couple it was clear that Briana and Dave’s faith was an important part of the day and going into their marriage. It was special to be able to capture the groomsmen and bridesmaids supporting their friends through prayer before the ceremony.

If they were worried about the possibility of having a large-scale weather event be a feature of their wedding day, they certainly didn’t show it. Briana and Dave were so easy to get on with, their bridal party brought along a ton of laughs and shenanigans; it was a pleasure to play a role in their special day.
